3 Blog Writing Tips Your Readers Will Love
Blog writing is nothing like magic — you don’t have to be a professional writer to write a blog that readers would love to read. You just need to have a story to tell, an opinion to make people aware of or an incident to share. And, you can do all your verbal bashing in the medium you choose to—whether on audio or podcasting or by video. So, now you needn’t hesitate to write a blog—you can create your own distinctive blog that will bring in a surge of traffic. Here’s how:
1. Write in a conversational tone: It’s important that you write in a conversational and casual tone as this makes for easy understanding and greater enjoyment. However, this may be difficult if you’re writing a scientific or business document, but you can certainly reduce the heaviness of tone. Or use a digital recorder to speak out your blog post.
2. Don’t let your paragraphs exceed three sentences: To be read on the Net, you need to write differently as reading on a computer screen for long can be very difficult on the eye. So, write short paragraphs, never more than three sentences a paragraph. Make headings, subheadings and bullet points to show demarcation of ideas. Readers wanting a quick read can benefit from this kind of layout.
3. Have a mix of long and short blog posts: Keep your blogs not more than 350 words, often going up to about 700-800 words, not more. These long posts will serve as backgrounders to your blogs, so they are important in themselves. Once you finish writing long posts, link them to your website so that your readers know who’s written them.
Blogs are fun to write, particularly if the topic is close to your heart. So, go ahead and blog on!!
